The Philippine cinema and film making industry have come to existence in the year 1897 by a theatre owner who screened moving pictures. From then on, the motion picture industry evolves until the modern times and is now one of its booming sectors.

Film Festival in the country is an occasion where all producers, movie directors, film actors and actresses and the awarding bodies gather together to celebrate and award the best movies according to different criteria. Movies pass through a committee of judges and then the evaluation follows.
